When will we be reopening?

Unfortunately we don't yet know the answer to this, but we promise that as soon as we are told we can reopen we will call you to let you know and you will be booked in as a priority.

Can I book now to be one of the first patients back in?

As we don't know when we are able to reopen we are not taking bookings yet, but any patient with a brace currently fitted will be treated as a priority. There may still be restrictions on what we are allowed to do when the practice reopens, but again we will keep you updated and manage your expectations as best we can. Restrictions might include the use of a drill / high speed equipment which could delay some adjustments or the removal of your brace.

Is it safe to leave braces on this long without an appointment?

Yes, it is safe. Of course, this is far from ideal and we would usually like to see you every 2 to 4 weeks. However, the only likely problem will be a delay in the completion of your treatment. After we fit / adjust your brace your teeth will move into position and then stay there until the next adjustment.  If you are in pain / run out of bands / anything else! please don't hesitate to get in touch.

‍Will my braces need to be on longer now?

The treatment time will remain the same, but we need to bear in mind that there has been a gap where we have been unable to treat you. The estimate still stands (although it is never an exact science) so if you were expecting to wear the brace for 6 months and lockdown lasts for 3, we would expect your total treatment time to be 9 months.

Will it be safe to come in when lockdown ends?

We honestly believe that dentistry is one of the best equipped industries to manage the challenges of our "new normal". Even before the outbreak, we took every possible step to ensure the safety of our patients. Our surgery is meticulously cleaned and disinfected between each patient, and we will also be following each and every additional guideline presented to us. This may include limiting the amount of patients we can see in a day and increasing time between appointments to limit contact between patients.
